NFL Week 11/12
Week 11 Power Rankings and Week 12 Game Picks
Week 11 Power Rankings
- Steelers: The Steelers played another solid game this week. I would feel more confident putting them in this spot if their offense was playing better. If the Chiefs hadn’t played the Raiders so closely, Kansas City would hold this spot.
- Chiefs: Kansas City continued an impressive campaign to repeat as Super Bowl champs with a win against Las Vegas, which avenged their only loss of the season. This week they have their biggest test of the year against the Buccaneers, a team with a QB that Chiefs fans know all too well.
- Saints: The Saints are a pretty obvious choice for this spot. Even though Brees is likely out for another three weeks, Taysom Hill looked good last week, and their next three games are against teams with a losing record.
- Rams: The NFC West has been the most competitive division all year, but the Rams look like the slight favorites thus far. The Rams won Monday night against the Buccaneers, improving their record to 7-3. While their offense has only scored over 30 points twice this year, the Rams defense is perhaps the best in the league, allowing less than 300 yards of total offense a game.Â
- Colts: The Colts proved they are legit. I am impressed that they were able to win this game despite giving up 28 points. Even though they played a mediocre Green Bay defense, 31 points is a good performance from the Colts offense.
- Packers: In week 11, the Packers lost a heartbreaker against the Colts in overtime. Despite the loss, Green Bay still remains atop the NFC North and will likely stay there having to play only one team with a winning record in their final six games.
- Bills: At this point, I highly doubt the Bills won’t win this division. The Dolphins looked like they had a chance, but after losing to the Broncos, I think this race is over.
- Seahawks: The Seahawks have been inconsistent, to say the least. However, a Thursday night victory over the Cardinals featured the Seahawks’ best defensive performance, headlined by two sacks from newly acquired Carlos Dunlap. If Seattle is going to win the NFC West, they will need to take advantage of their next four games against sub-.500 teams.
- Titans: The Titans needed this win, but the Ravens really just blew that game. But I have to give the Titans credit because there is something to be said for closing out close games. The real test for the Titans will be this week against the Colts.
- Buccaneers: The Buccaneers’ offense has underperformed this season, and Monday night may have been the best example of their shortcomings. Despite playing against a top defense, Tom Brady still disappointed, throwing two terrible interceptions. With the way the Saints are playing, the Bucs will have to run the table to win the NFC South.
