Week 4 recap and week 5 game picks

NFL week 5, 2021-2022

Week 4 Recap:

Arizona Cardinals: The Arizona Cardinals are off to a 4-0 start, and are the last undefeated team in the league. Kyler Murray is looking like a legitimate MVP candidate so far.

After an impressive win against the Rams, they look to continue their good run against the 49ers.

New York Giants: Daniel Jones is playing like a good quarterback. After an overtime win against the Saints the Giants now sit at 1-3. However if Jones continues his good play and their defense holds up, they could turn their record around.

Green Bay Packers: During a solid win against the Steelers, the Packers looked like early favorites to win the NFC. Unfortunately the team lost their two best defensive starters, Jaire Alexander and Za’Darius Smith, to potential long term injuries. We have seen Aaron Rodgers carry bad defenses before, but it is unlikely that he is able to do it at his age.

Atlanta Falcons: It took four weeks, but the Falcons finally wasted an amazing Matt Ryan performance. He had over 280 yards and four passing touchdowns, but the Falcons defense gave up 34 points to the weak Washington offense. However with two relatively easy games coming up, the Falcons may be able to turn their season around.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Ben Roethlisberger is not the answer at quarterback for the Steelers. Many have called for him to retire, and for good reason. His decision making is questionable, he has no mobility, and his arm strength is depleted. As long as he is the starter for the Steelers, they aren’t going anywhere.

Oakland Raiders: After a defeat against the Chargers, the Raiders sit at 3-1, third in the AFC West. Derek Carr did not play well, throwing an interception with 3:22 left in the fourth quarter to seal the game for the Chargers. Justin Herbert carved up the Raiders secondary to the tune of three touchdowns and a 107.6 passer rating. They look to bounce back against the unpredictable Bears on Sunday.

Tennessee Titans: With AJ Brown and Julio Jones out, the Titans offense stalled against the then-winless Jets. Ryan Tannehill’s performance further proves my opinion that he is a system quarterback who can’t adjust to pressure or play well in a weak situation. Their defense didn’t do them any favors either, allowing 27 points to a team that was averaging under seven points heading into the week. In the next five weeks the Titans will face the Chiefs, Rams, and Bills, all of which are unfavorable matchups.

Jets: Coming off their first win of the season, the Jets have a favorable matchup against the Falcons in a game in London on Sunday morning. Zach Wilson was impressive during their win against the Titans, and Quinnen Williams manned a defense that sacked Ryan Tannehill seven times on Sunday. While this may be a fluke win for the Jets, they have three winnable games coming up on their schedule.

Week 4 Results:

Archie: 10-6 (29-19 overall)

Jimmy: 10-6 (31-17 overall)

Drew: 8-8 (26-22 overall)

Calvin: 10-6 (26-22 overall)
