Artificial intelligence has had an immense impact on our society and will continue to have one. Millions of websites, companies and resources have all begun to utilize this new technology to make things way more efficient. Nowadays, talking to anyone will reveal just how many people use AI and how many purposes it can now serve. It’s even begun to serve many purposes in schools, such as creating practice tests, helping inspire students on topics to write about, and helping teachers create a rubric for a project. And although this change is off the bat understandably frightening, it is our future. And like I always say, if you can’t beat them, join them!
At this point in time, it would be way more efficient and indeed the smarter option to continue to embrace this new technology and acknowledge the blessings it has brought us. People are often scared by the idea of an all-knowing device that helps us develop as a society, but that thought itself is so strange! These all-knowing devices can bring nothing but efficient progress. I have personally utilized AI for pretty much anything: asking what to make for dinner, what to wear, what to tell my children when they ask me anything about emotions or real problems–you know, everything.
As a member of the school board, I have witnessed firsthand how beautiful AI has been and will continue to be in schools. I have noticed the stress of children dramatically decreases when all they have to do is type into Chat GPT roughly what they want their essay to be, rather than using their brain too hard. Personally, I believe that AI is the best thing to happen to society, simply because it cannot make a mistake! In my years of using as many AI devices as I could, I have never found a mistake in any response one has given me. This advancement must not be taken for granted, and we must jump on every opportunity that comes our way to utilize AI to its fullest potential.
Now, I want to bring your attention to a more serious topic. Throughout my time on the board, I have observed and had reports tell me that multiple teachers on different occasions have failed to mask their unprofessional emotions around the children at this school. I have personally witnessed teachers silently crying by themselves in their empty classrooms or raising their voice a little too high when frustrated at a student. These emotions are completely unprofessional and could potentially compromise students’ learning experience if they are exposed to these unnatural emotions from their authoritative figures.
Humans are just so fragile. How many teachers have missed teaching their students and left a random substitute with them all because those teachers were sick? Once again, incredibly unprofessional behavior. What could teach our students reliably with a lack of emotions or sick days? Artificial intelligence.
Since teachers provide all these problems and will ultimately harm the student’s learning journey, the smartest thing that we as school board members can do is vote to eliminate human teachers at this school altogether. I propose including AI in schools on a grander scale, on the largest scale there could be. As opposed to having human teachers who frequently make mistakes and let their emotions get the best of them, I propose that we strictly utilize artificial intelligence to be the students’ only teacher. These AI teachers will be displayed on classroom screens, will be able to answer any question thrown their way and will help these students better than any other teacher could.
This idea introduces a world of opportunities and closes the door on the many problems that teachers cause. First, AI physically cannot make any mistake, which would filter out the mistakes that would be taught to students by human teachers. Students wouldn’t have to learn from their mistakes to evolve as humans if their teacher never teaches them how they could make one. Why wouldn’t we as parents and faculty want our children to be perfect students? In addition, students would not be exposed to teacher’s frequent and harmful sickness, which would keep our schools clean and safe.
This solution also introduces a solution to a separate problem: the high budget of teachers. Everyone here knows how much money goes directly to the teachers, and how so much of that could go back to the school itself, the school board, and the student’s benefit.
Now although teachers may now not be fulfilling the role that they are used to, they could definitely serve a separate position that could help keep this new system up and running. After some time of this new system, it will begin to run out of energy. When the time is right, teachers will be able to provide this help. Teachers have something that AI desperately needs to run: water. So, when the time comes, with the assistance of us board members, these teachers will provide us with this resource, and then their attachment to the school system will be over.
Artificial Intelligence is the beautiful future of this school and this world. With these new developments proposed, we could use this technology to its full potential and for our full benefit. Thank you very much for listening, and I hope you all think deeply and agree that this is our only solution.
